I don't get it...

I've been a HUGE AMD fan for years because they have always provided a very high quality processor at a low cost...

soooo, what do they do...the head hancho over at AMD is saying that just because high end gamers tend to pay the big bucks for the best, they're going to raise their prices....just so they won't be viewed as a cheap competitor of Intel?

So AMD was sitting around in their boardroom and someone says, "hey!  let's raise the price of our highest end chip $200 just because people will pay it...that way we will be seen as the most expensive chip maker out there..."

yeah, like I said...I just don't get it.  I think I've just become a hard core Intel customer again.  :(

    I agree - also, the competing Intel part that costs slighly less, has the advantage of Hyperthreading, so it is actually faster when running multiple applications.
