WMI Diagnosis Utility

If you are a SMS or MOM administrator you live and die based on the availability of WMI.  Unfortunately if WMI is not working often you don't realize it until you really need the information.

Technet has posted a great tool called the WMI Diagnosis Utility.  This tool is essentially a VBscript that runs and generatoes log files or event log entries.  There is even an option for SMS Administrators to push the tool out using SMS and gathering the results from the registry by editing the SMS_DEF.MOF.

MOM Administrators can read the event log entries that get created and generate alerts or better yet send a custom script response to repair WMI.
