New TLG mini-module for Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 2.0 now available
TLG fans,
Take a look at Test Lab Guide Mini-Module: Install AD FS 2.0. This TLG mini-module installs AD FS 2.0 on the DC1 computer in the Base Configuration test lab.
In the new lab configuration, DC1 is both an AD DS domain controller and an identity provider security token service (IP-STS), which acts as an enterprise claims provider for claims-based applications. The resulting configuration can be used to demonstrate claims-aware identity solutions for a number of Microsoft products (such as SharePoint 2010) or claims-aware applications.
For an overview of claims-based identity and Microsoft technologies, see Claims-based Identity for Windows: Technologies and Scenarios.
For resources on claims in SharePoint 2010, see SharePoint 2010: Claims-Based Authentication.
For resources on AD FS 2.0, see the AD FS 2.0 Content Map.
In the near future, there will be additional modular TLGs that leverage this new test lab configuration. In the mean time, feel free to use this mini-module to create your own test lab environment to test claims-aware products and applications.
