Windows Server 2008 R2: Hyper-V Component Architecture

If you had not heard, the new Hyper-V poster is now available. I know some of you grabbed some prints at Tech Ed in New Orleans. I really appreciated meeting you all.

This poster provides a visual reference for understanding key Hyper-V technologies in Windows Server 2008 R2. It focuses on architecture, snapshots, live migration, virtual networking, storage, and import/export.

It’s a great visual tool to understand what components make up Hyper-V and how they work.  It highlights key Hyper-V components including:

  •

  • Architecture

  • Virtual Networking

  • Virtual Machine Snapshots

  • Live Migration

  • Storage Interfaces

  • Storage Types

  • Storage Location and Paths

  • Import and Export

I love this poster. I'd love to see a VMM one too. I've read it a few times now and keep learning things from it. Seriously a cool piece of work. Well done Martin.
