Hello [tap, tap] is this thing still on?

As the intervals between my blog entries grow longer, I'm trying to decide whether the issue is all of the other time pressures I have or simply that I'm not making blogging the priority that it needs to be.  I'm still not sure, but either way the first step is admitting you have a problem, right?

Anyhow, it has been a bumpy couple of months on a personal level.  I spent about a month late last year flying back and forth between Seattle and the Bay Area to spend time with my Grandfather, who was dying of lung cancer.  Pop finally lost his fight on Christmas Eve, so I flew down again on Christmas day to be with the family, arrange the funeral, begin executing the will, etc.  Definitely a rough patch, but life does indeed go on.

Then a couple of weeks ago, I came down with this brutal, end-of-the-world, Book-of-Revelation flu.  I spent a few days straight in bed (with alarmingly frequent restroom visits), but it was nothing a good blood letting and a handful of leeches couldn't cure.

More recently, I spent the weekend in New Orleans (my wife's home town) for my sister-in-law's wedding.  It was actually enjoyable as those things go.  The ceremony was at St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter, and we second-lined our way to the reception a few blocks away.  The remainder of weekend was spent engaged in grueling pursuits such as coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde,  Mardi Gras parades, and slurping down ample amounts of boiled crawfish and beer.

On the VC++ front, Bill Dunlap and I did a Channel9 video yesterday on VC++ product strategy that should be coming on line in the next couple of weeks.  A number of other VC++ folks have done Channel9 videos recently as well, so I'll definitely be calling those out here when Charles is able to get them posted.
