One of the character traits that impresses me most in someone is generosity. And I never fail to be surprised at how much fun people can have a fundraising event, even folks who don't know each other.

Keeping track of exactly what people give for an event or a cause--be it time, goods, services, or money--can be a bit of a hassle so using receipts helps. It's also rewarding for the person who's giving to take home some recognition, something for the tax files, or something as proof of his or her contribution.
