Two new receipt templates with auto-numbering
The Office Online Templates site has a number of free receipt templates (check out the full list here) but we consistently saw the same requests from you, our customers: add automatic numbering and more than one receipt per page! So here you go - 2 new receipts with "smart" features!
What makes these templates even more useful, in my books, are the fact that they're theme-ready, have Quick Parts so you can quickly add new pages of receipts, AND enable you to select the starting number for auto-numbering.
To use themes:
You can change the fonts and colors by choosing a new theme. Just go to the the Page Layout tab in the Ribbon and click Themes. You can also get more themes for your Word documents if you don't like the built-in themes or want something new.If you're not sure what themes are or how they work, check out these blog posts: What are themes? and How to apply themes in Word 2007 - 3 simple steps
To use Quick Parts:
If you're writing receipts, the odds are that you'll need more than 3. To add another page of 3 receipts with automatic numbering that starts from the last page, just go to the Insert tab on the Ribbon, click Quick Parts, and click the Receipts slips (3 per page) option. Voila - 3 new receipts on a new page!Tip: The only trick is to place your cursor *after* the last page of receipts before inserting the new ones.
To change the auto-numbering
In case you miss it in the template description. you can choose the starting number for these receipts by changing the number field for the first receipt on the page:
- Right-click the first receipt number, click Edit Field, click Options, and in the Field Codes box, edit the number after \r (i.e., to \r 201). Close the dialog box, press CTRL+A to select all receipts in the document, and then press F9 to update the numbers on each receipt.
