"Client for NFS" service cannot be started after stopping it from services console

On Windows 7 the “Client for NFS” service behaves some way differently than its earlier versions on SFU 3.5 and on Windows 2003 R2.

The difference is once “Client for NFS” service is stopped using services console; you cannot start it using Services console; using net start command or using “Services for Network File System (NFS)” management console.

Starting from Windows 7; some architectural change forces two different services to be stopped while stopping “Client for NFS” service. Services console (or net start command) cannot handle it; only nfsadmin command and “Services for Network File System (NFS)” management console are equipped to do it.

So, the workaround is on Windows 7 use nfsadmin command or “Services for Network File System (NFS)” management console to stop and start “Client for NFS” service. And this will only work after a clean reboot if you happen to try stopping the service using services console or using net stop command.
