Introducing myself - Gregg Boer

I'm Gregg Boer. I'm one of the Program Manager's(*) on the Work Item Tracking team. I joined Microsoft about 1 1/2 years ago mostly because I was excited about the product they are developing. I think TFS has a way of changing how software development is done, enabling people to do the processes that we all know we need to do, but don't have the infrastructure to support!

My focus: Helping project teams manage their work, or better put: Taking the mundane and grind out of project tracking, so that teams can focus more time on work, and still have a well-tracked project.

If you have ANY ideas on how TFS could help with that, please let me know!

Anyway, that's all for now. I'll post more later.

(*) - Program Manager is Microsoft-speak for a combination Project Manager / Business Analyst / Product Designer. Basically we design the product (with your feedback) and work with the team to get it created.

No specific comments at this time, but I'd like to applaude you (as in Gregg and Microsoft) on this openness! I wish all companies was this open! :) Cheers, Jarle

It would be nice to see some growth around Project Change Control. I.E. User Requests, User Signoff, Migration Requests. I am working to try to customize Work itmes to manage this at this time needing specific code version from the source control and associate the correct work items to the request.

I think Project Change Control is a huge area we need to invest in. Every, single project deals with it. We need to have a solution that makes it easy to manage change, because it can be oh-so-tedious otherwise. I would be interested in any ideas/issues you have with using TFS to accomplish this. Thanks!
