Microsoft official guideline is to support SQL authentication for SharePoint 2010. Being said that on a RC release (i am using 4747),"WebAnalyticServiceApplication" does not have an option to configure the SQL authentication (both on UI and PowerShell cmdlets). However, other serivces (except WebAnalyticServiceApplication), seems to support SQL authentication.

This would have been very useful for our client and not sure why Microsoft have decided to exclude setting up Web Analytic Service Application using SQL auth.... Our public facing site is set up using SQL auth (no AD anywhere) and maybe Microsoft think Internet facing sites will be using analytics software like WebTrends, etc. Whereas Intranet sites are installed in the corp. network with AD so setting up the Web Analytic Service Application using NTLM shouldn't be a problem.
