What Is Software Plus Services: A Video by CommonCraft

It’s one of the most common questions I get – most recently from Michael Arrington in the back of cab in Paris. Hopefully this video will help clear things up for people – in under 4 minutes. Much less than it usually takes me so I have to work on my pitch!

For a long time I’ve admired Lee and Sachi’s work at Common Craft so it was great to work with them on this video over the Christmas period. For those of a YouTube persuasion you can get the video over there too.

I’m hopeful we may be able to do a few more of these looking at the detail of what S+S is for consumers, developers and business as those are the 3 main constituents I see for this strategy.

    Had I not got carried away with ROI calculations, I would have been creating a .ppt about S+S to explain it internally. Now it looks like my forced procrastination has paid off as I will now be using that video instead, saving myself a fair old chunk of time. Good timing!

    This is really great: short, clear, informative. I'm looking forward to the rest of the video's! I think this should be watched by every MS FTE! Maybe you could make one about 'the cloud' also?
