The Social Network: LIKE
I saw The Social Network last week at an advance screening and was expecting it to be a snoozeathon (so much so I took my laptop planning to do some work). I was very wrong…it was compulsive viewing and was brilliant as Zuckerberg. Highlights for me where the sarcastic “let me check your math” line and the footage from Henley on Thames. Actually the whole thing was great…well shot, great cast and a gripping story. Some quality fashion moments too (see below)….and though the product placement was relatively subtle, no prized for guessing which hardware manufacturer was involved.
I’d highly recommend LIKE it – 8/10. Far more educated folks than me have also weighed in…I suspect this movie will become part of courses at university for a variety of reasons: analysing the plot, analysing Zuckerberg, analysing the morals/ethics raised in the movie…and so much more. A movie for our time.

Worth checking out some of the other perspectives on the movie, and a reminder that it is after all a work of fiction based on true life. Interesting list at: www.businessinsider.com/is-the-social-network-true-2010-10
