IE9 beta is baked and hot

IE9…putting websites at the center of the experience. The beta is now available and the reviews have been great. Ed Bott called the beta “an impressively polished product”.

Websites can be pinned to the Windows 7 taskbar and provide jumplists to common site actions. Sites can also provide reminders (Livestrong.com was used as an example in the launch event). The same site was used to show the clean design with the frame of the browser reinforcing the site…Livestrong of course get a strong yellow hue.

The download manager is a simple, clean look at what you have downloading and the new tab page show you with color the most often visited sites

As you would expect, search is now in the taskbar and gives you autosuggestions

…and the add on dilemma. To add on or not to add on…I had this discussion with a friend this week about IE and Firefox and the pros and cons of add ons. Now you can see whether an add-on is compromising your performance with the perf advisor
