We need your Express Setup FeedBack
In the next release of SQL Server, called SQL Server 2008 R2 we are working on addressing issues that complicated the installation of SQL Server Express. As the timeframe to address these issues is tight for this release we won’t be able to address all issues. However, still take the time to file your issue at https://connect.microsoft.com/. If we can’t address in SQL Server 2008 R2, we will consider addressing in the next major release.

I am having a problem with the SQL 2008 Express Set up Package. I have installed SQL with Advanced tools, everything went smooth, rebooted as required. Created my instance, went through all the steps from the Installation type to Complete, until the message that says: You have successfully installed SQL 2008 Express....etc". Now, the problem I am having is, every time I turn my laptop on the Setup Package starts a new installation session. I did empty my temp folder, I checked my msconfig to see if the SQLExpressWrapper is in there, just in case, and it's not there. I checked also to see if SQL 2008 Express has been installed in my Add and Remove programs and sure enough it was there too....everything seems fine, but this Setup Package installing everytime I start my laptop doesn't sound right. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong, I have installed it in my other laptop running vista with no problems at all. Any help will be very appreciated, this is for my senior project. Thank you for any feedback.Anonymous

Made the mistake of thinking the the MS IIS download launcher would save me some time on this 2008 Server R2 - 64bit . Big mistake. After unstalling SQL Express 2008 and downloading the install file from Microsoft it refused to install. I should have taken the time and made note of the error message and files it couldn't find but it is really getting late and I'm tired.. On the upside after a fresh clean install and only doing the MS updates SQL Server Express Advanced Services is about half way thru.
