ConfigMgr 2007: Capacity Planner Tool
It seems that a week doesn't go by without a couple questions from people looking for a capacity planner tool for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007. While we do have a tool for Systems Management Server 2003, we don't have a standalone tool per se for ConfigMgr 2007. What we do have is some great documentation that will help you successfully plan your site for your exact environment and your exact requirements. The intro and link is below:

The following recommendations can be used as a baseline to help determine site capacity planning information that is appropriate to your organization’s infrastructure. For information about Configuration Manager performance recommendations, see Configuring Configuration Manager Sites for Best Performance.
Actual site capacity requirements may vary from the listed recommendations depending on your specific networking environment and how Configuration Manager 2007 features are implemented. The hardware used to host Configuration Manager 2007 site systems also contributes to the performance of Configuration Manager 2007. The number of Configuration Manager 2007 component servers, number of clients installed, and the features enabled also affect server performance.
