Microsoft Investments Transform Non-profits: Recipients Honored at Reception
Silicon Valley is home to several outstanding nonprofit organizations who are committed to the advancement of our community. This week, at a grantee reception, Microsoft recognized 66 organizations for their dedication to improving quality of life in the Valley. These organizations have touched the local community in various ways, including providing legal counsel, protecting those vulnerable to domestic abuse, and paving the way for students to continue their education.
Microsoft has consistently supported these non-profits in their philanthropic endeavors by providing various resources to help improve and update their technology infrastructure. Some of the organizations were using software applications and hardware dating back more than a decade -- needless to say, this hindered their ability to best support the communities they serve.
You, too can help these remarkable organizations by supporting their participation in the Microsoft Video Clip Challenge. The organization with the most votes via video “likes” will receive an Xbox Kinect Combo to encourage them to continue their civic mission. Voting closes on October 3rd.
