Microsoft and the Scoble phenomenon

I feel sad that Robert scoble is moving out of MSFT. Ironically the news came exactly on the day I finished reading his book - Naked Conversations. I had spent the last 2-3 weeks reading the book and appreciating how much he has impacted Microsoft and Blogging.

The industry has seen so many high profile movements in and out of big companies. But this one is pretty unique. Rarely have an employee and the employer had such mutual impact on each other. Blogging@Microsoft will forever be seen as a 'Scoble' phenomenon and Scoble will always be the Microsoft Blogger guy (even if he comes up with a new earth shattering discovery or something).

Interestingly an increased blogtivity at MSFT will reduce the Scoble effect inside microsoft while it will increase his stature as a change agent inside MSFT will grow with every new MSFT.

I also just finished the book (though half a year later). Very interesting to read what is happening at MSFT. I'm working on a book on 'bottom-up media'. What's your thought: will the blogtivity at MSFT grow 9did it since Scoble left?) Any idea how many people at MSFT are active in the bloghosphere?
