Get more clicks: location tag your tweets
Imagine being able to pop Tweets up in front of your customers as they browse online maps near the location of your business. Now you can do exactly that just by location tagging your tweets! :-)
Microsoft Bing has just release a new function which shows you location tagged Tweets directly on the map you are viewing!
A quick search for ‘Reading, UK’ shows me all of the nearby tweets highlighted with small blue blobs on the map. Clicking on each blob displays the tweet, along with any photos they are linking to on Twitpic, Yfrot or similar photo sharing sites…
Location tagging your tweets is easy now with most iPhone or other mobile Twitter apps. Here is the configuration option in the TweetDeck iPhone app…
I am off out to Reading for an evening with friends later this evening. A smart bar owner would be Tweeting NOW, telling me about what bands they have playing, drinks promotions or other info to get me thinking about their venue! :-)
