That's cool. Could this be the VMware killer?

I'm long term Microsoft fan but there is something missing in the comparison - VMware for sure have technologies that are not present at the Windows side like Page Sharing, Distributed Switch (without 3rd party), hypervisor driver access, and many other. I think just only feature comparison is not such important as I made a lot of "competitive sessions" in 2008r2 and VMw 4 time. I hope Server 2012 will change the game significantly.

The scalability features are the less interesting. It is something like a BMW has a maximum speed of 300 Km/h and the Mercedes 350 KM/h. Where I live the speed limit is 120km/h. Also it is comparing a yet to be released product with a soon to be updated product. We have to wait for SC2012 SP1 to manage Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V. VMware will not sit still and might release a new version of vSpere with better features very soon.

What is the different between max 512 and 1024 guests?  Theoritical limit does not mean any thing to 99.9% of the users. All I care for my VMs are fast, reliabe and cost effective. Please provide a realistic comoarison with real world senario. Thanks

It is still tough to figure out. If one has to start career into windows administration then what should be the right choice? With Vmware one has to learn and get certified with Linux, Windows server 2008 and vmware. But with Windows server 2012 all needed is Windows server 2012 certified.
