SharePoint and FBA

A good series of articles for those interested in using FBA. If you've deployed FBA and are seeing operational differences between FBA and Windows Integrated Security then jump to part 3.

Hi steve Iam just setting up a sharepoint server using FBA. My provider says that if I want to have the “Open with Windows Explorer” function available as an action from my document libraries this is not available in a SharePoint server that is running Forms Based Authentication. It would only work on a server running Windows Authentication. Forms based authentication is a new technology (for SharePoint) and does not offer all the features of Windows Authentication." Is this the case? Many thanks for help! L
