Documentation Update: New Content Coming Soon!

Greetings! Happy 2006 to all of our friends out there in SBS-land! We hope the New Year brings with it great times and great business! And as you have come to expect, the Windows SBS Documentation team will be close by, listening to your needs and creating content that helps you “Do More with Less!”

It’s been a while since we last touched base, but rest assured that we have been busy! Let’s start off the New Year with a quick preview of some great new content that will become available to you in early February on the Windows SBS Product Documentation Web site.

  • Information Worker's Guide to the Windows SBS Computer Network. Using a series of PowerPoint-based modules, this guide introduces users to some of the concepts and features of their Windows SBS computer network. The modules include information about secure computing, using e-mail, sharing documents with others, sending faxes, working from remote locations, and much more. To view these modules, client computers must have either Office PowerPoint, or the free Office PowerPoint Viewer installed. Installation instructions are included with the download.

  • Running Multiple Servers in a Windows Small Business Server Environment.  This document takes a detailed look at running multiple servers in a Windows SBS environment. It discusses customer environments, relevant Microsoft technologies, and integration scenarios to help you plan your network deployments.

  • Step-by-Step Guide to Adding and Managing Additional Servers in a Windows Small Business Server Network.  These step-by-step instructions help partners add and manage multiple servers in a Windows SBS environment. It guides them through the processes of configuring the Windows SBS server, configuring the server for the environment, connecting the server to the domain, and managing the new server using the Windows SBS management console.

  • Step-by-Step Guide to Connecting Remote Offices to your Windows Small Business Server Network.  These step-by-step instructions walk partners through the process of connecting remote offices to a Windows SBS network. It briefly discusses capacity planning, VPN connections, and remote-client connectivity, and then dives into configuring servers for a VPN connection between offices.

The year is off to a great start, and there is much more in development. To keep the ball rolling though, we need to keep hearing from you! So don’t be shy! And don’t be a stranger. Send us your feedback and let us know what kind of documentation would make your job easier. After all, we don’t succeed in what we do unless you do!
