Siebel and Sharepoint WebParts

Siebel Collaboration 7.8 provides a platform for employees, partners and customers to communicate more
effectively and to manage the unstructured collaborative activity that is inherent in many sales and service
processes. Tasks including RFP response, competitive assessments and customer solution proposals are
examples of sales activities that often require a high degree of collaboration. In many industries the sales and
service organizations rely heavily on input from product management, engineering, competitive intelligence,
finance and others to manage complex sales and service processes. Using Siebel Collaboration, sales and
service professionals can invite experts from all over the organization to assist throughout the sales process or
on complex service requests. A contact center agent might chat with an engineer to quickly resolve a customer
problem. A sales representative might discuss product positioning with product and competitive experts. A
sales consultant might share the current version of an RFP with an assembled group of experts. In each case,
Siebel Collaboration 7.8 provides a centralized project space for managing and capturing the collaborative
activity. This leads to better team work, improved communication, and reuse of information, and ultimately
results in faster and more reliable customer response.

SPS Web Parts Deployment Guide

The SPS Web Parts for Siebel allow Sharepoint portal sites to view Siebel data. This solution will allow companies that use any of the Siebel products to add (read-only) Siebel data to existing Sharepoint portal sites quickly and easily. The addition of Siebel data to existing Sharepoint sites should greatly enhance the usefulness of those sites (for those companies that depend on Siebel data for critical business processes).

Note: The web parts are supplied as sample code and leverages the SPS Single Sign On service so to use them on a stand alone WSS would require some customization.
