How to enable Logging in BCM

There are two ways to enable logging in BCM

· User Interface

· Registry

User Interface:

To enable logging through the User Interface go to help > About Business contact Manger

Check the box that says Enable logging for Business contact Manager

Registry

Logging through the registry can be enabled by manually adding the following keys prior to starting Outlook

HKEY_CURRENT _USER\Software\Microsoft\Business Solution eCRM

Check for a DWORD VALUE called BCMLogging , If not present you’ll need to create one and provide a value data of 255 (In decimal)

This would ensure that logging has been turned on .

Also when these options are enable , a log file called BCMLog_V3.log is written to:

C:\Documents & Settings\<User name>\Local Settings\Temp (On Windows XP )

C:\Users\ <User Name>\AppData\Local\Temp (On Vista )

You can also access the file by going to Start > RUN > %TEMP%
