Compatibility Message when Installing BCM 2007 on Windows 7

When installing Business Contact Manager 2007 on Windows 7, users might encounter the following message during the installation process:

clip_image002

This warning is genuine and applies to all SQL Server editions, including all Express editions. The incompatibility was fixed in SQL Server 2008 Service Pack1 and SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3.

You can safely continue the installation by clicking "Run program" button and apply the latest service pack afterwards. In some cases you may be presented with this warning message multiple times during the installation process.

Once the installation is complete please apply the latest SQL Server service pack. You can use Windows Update to do so. Just be sure to click "Get updates for more Microsoft products" to start obtaining updates for SQL Server. SQL Server service packs should show up on the list of optional updates. You may need to kick-off the scan for updates manually if not - you can do it by clicking "Check for updates" link on the left pane of main Windows Update window.

If for some reason Windows Update doesn't work for you, please download and install latest service pack manually.

Download SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3

Also if the users are trying to install & deploy Business Contact Manager from a network location and want to get rid of this error , you can use the following steps to implement an upgrade to SQL 2005 Service Pack 3.

This helps to Slipstream SP3 into the Business Contact Manager Setup Process.

1. Copy the Business Contact Manager CD to a Hard Drive Location

2. Locate the \SEE folder in the Folder Structure

3. In that folder, Rename SQLEXPR.EXE to SQLEXPR.EXE.OLD

4. Download SQLEXPR.EXE from this location:

https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3181842A-4090-4431-ACDD-9A1C832E65A6&displaylang=en

5. Copy the SQLEXPR.exe that was downloaded into the \SEE folder

6. Install Business Contact Manager normally

Thanks & Regards

Thanks.  I tried once before but tried again and it has installed.  Now, however, in outlook set-up it will not connect to my e-mail server.  I assume I have done something wrong. I did download SP3 and unwrap it, then install outlook.  Any ideas?
