Maven says: "I need a vacation"; Motley says: "Slacker"

Maven: You know what, Mot? I'm taking a vacation. It's been a great year, but I need a bit of time off. It is the holiday season, after all.

Motley: Slacker. You hardly do any work as it is!

Maven: Well, I don't produce much in the way of tangible results, but I like to think I contribute to the company's bottom line and indirectly to the development of the product by coaching others.

Motley: Bah! I don't buy all that touchy feely stuff. Unless you are checking in code, you aren't contributing.

Maven: Ouch! I know that's just your blunt exterior talking. One day you'll give me a bit of credit.

Motley: Credit for wasting my time! … Ok, fine. I'm joking around a little here. You HAVE helped me out a few times. I'm not sure it justifies your salary, but you do add a bit of value here and there.

Maven: Thanks, Mot. I think. I'll take that as a complement. I think. Anyway, I'm off on vacation until January 15, 2008. I hope you have a great holiday season.

Motley: Thanks. I'm actually taking a few days off myself and I'll be back on the same date. And since James is probably eavesdropping on us yet again because he doesn't have a life, perhaps we can hint that he wish everyone out in Internet land a happy holidays as well.

Maven: I am sure he will.
