Microsoft Exchange 2010 upgrade Test cases – Part 1

I am writing a series of blog where I will guide you on test cases that should carry out when upgrading from either Exchange 2003 or Exchange Server 2007 to Exchange 2010. This blog is first of this series.

Each blog will contain two test cases that will guide you on various testing conditions that should help you streamline your Exchange upgrade.

Scenario

Updated EXBPA with latest configuration file

Run EXBPA to validate existing Exchange 2007 environment to resolve any outstanding issues before installing Exchange 2010.

Method

EXBPA under Exchange 2007 Tools

Expected Results

Run EXPBPA and document any issues. Fix where possible and then document all outstanding issues not resolved for future investigation.

User Scenario

Validate OWA login (SSL certificates and FBA)

Connect to https://www.Contoso.com

Method

Login to OWA using IE

Expected Results

Installation of OWA and third party SSL Server Certificate and configuration of Forms Based Authentication needs to be successful for OWA to function properly
