Over the past two days at BUILD 2013, Microsoft unveiled a lot of developer goodness with Windows 8.1 Preview, Visual Studio 2013 and .NET 4.5.1. Previews. Apart from these, BUILD conference also used the latest version of C++ AMP to demonstrate how C++ developers can take advantage of parallelism in the GPU. In the day 2 keynote demo, Steven Guggenheimer and John Shewchuk showed how C++ AMP improved the performance of application in a noticeable manner. Please fast forward to 01:59:00 mark in the recorded video to see the C++ AMP aspects of the talk. The demo was performed on a Surface pro (running on third gen Intel Core i5 Processor with Intel HD Graphics 4000) hardware running Windows 8.1 preview OS. Once the demo code is published, we will update this post with more details. So stay tuned.

Seems that Intel HD Graphics 4600 does not return true to get_supports_cpu_shared_memory on Win 8.1 and Visual Studio 2013 Express, is there any specific driver or update to install ?

Hi Pierre, Intel HD Graphics 4600 does support shared memory. Could please share which driver version are you using? Can you try to install latest Intel driver from (www.intel.com/.../graphics) and check if it works? Thanks

I guess that the Build event is already done, but the demo code is nowhere to be found. Could you add it to this post?
