MVP Mentors Imagine Cup Team Estimeet to Big Win

MVP Mohit Singh Baweja with Imagine Cup Team Estimeet

34 teams from all over the world met in Seattle for the 2014 Imagine Cup World Finals.  These were the best of the best, selected from tens of thousands of students, and each of their projects were unique and impressive.  When it came to innovation, one team stood above the rest.

"We're feeling pretty unreal, it feels like a dream," says Imagine Cup Innovation Winners, Team Estimeet.  The New Zealand team took the top prize in the innovation category with their Windows Phone app that provides a user-friendly solution to a common problem among friends, being late.  Everyone has one or two friends who always seem to be running late. They don't respond to text messages or calls and leave you wondering when they'll arrive. With Estimeet, you will no longer have to make any more stressful texts and calls to your friends. Estimeet shows you all your friends’ distance and estimated time of arrival from the meeting location as well as whether they are on their way. We want to spend less time worrying about when our friends will show up, and more time having fun.

Windows Expert-Consumer MVP Mohit Singh Baweja volunteered his time and expertise to mentor Team Estimeet during the competition.  "Mohit has been a very good mentor to us," said Team Leader Hayden Do.  "He allowed us to dive further into our project and helped us with our execution."

MVP Mohit is no stranger to the Imagine Cup having competed himself 3 years in a row.  "Over the course of the competition, I saw a huge boost in everyone's self confidence," said Mohit.  "Which reflected not only through their presentation's, but also seeing their personalities evolve to be the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.  Their experience of getting media coverage, pitching constantly in front of industry leaders and representing New Zealand on a world stage, played a huge part!"
