Money Matters in Seattle: Currency and Banking Resources
Getting access to currency in Seattle and Redmond is incredibly easy with convenient access to ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) within a short walk of not only hotels, but also conveniently on the Microsoft campus in lunch rooms.
Here’s a map I’ve created in maps.live.com with two of the largest bank ATM networks (Bank of America and Washington Mutual) mapped out for Downtown Seattle.
Check out the Banking and Money page on the official Seattle.gov website. Listed here are currency converters, lists of banks and other relevant financial information.
Sales tax is charged in Seattle, with a tax rate of 9% on all purchases. If you have the time and the determination, a trip down south to the neighboring state of Oregon promises tax free shopping…problem is that it’s about three hours away.
