Microsoft gives time-frames for Windows 8, Windows Server 2012
There were two big pieces of news from Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto this week around availability of two major upgrades to Microsoft software, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Both Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 will be released to manufacturers (RTM) – industry jargon for giving hardware companies access to the software code - in the first week of August. Windows Server 2012 will be generally available to customers worldwide through multiple channels in September, and Windows 8 will be generally available by the end of October.
