Community night, get involved!
Communities are a great way to learn more about current and future technologies, meet people who - like you - design, deploy and support infrastructure technologies. What are you waiting for? Get involved!
To this extent, and to grow the interaction between IT Professional's within South Africa, Microsoft is assisting with the facilitation of a monthly gathering at Microsoft offices in Bryanston, Gauteng. These will be held every second Tuesday of the month.
The first community night for 2012 will be held on the 10th of April, starting at 16:00 and finishing around 17:30.
The guest speaker will be Aris Stavrou, Business Technology Manager for Rand Merchant Bank (RMB). The agenda will be focussed on migration strategies and projects that RMB have
completed over the last three years. Check back within the next week for the finalised agenda.
For those who have never attended a community event before, the structure is very informal and follows a basic agenda from the guest speaker, during which informal discussions and Q&A takes place. The key driving factor is the interaction within and between the IT Professionals in attendance, to learn from fellow IT Pro's who have experienced and completed various projects within their enterprise.
The content at community evenings encompass a wide range of discussions, from the business requirements of a project through to the technical implementation and support thereof. At the completion of the community evening, the content for the following month's event should be discussed and finalised. Thereby always ensuring that the evenings and content are relevant to our market, as well as the fact that the content is decided upon by our South African IT Pro community members.
There is the option of using Lync to our coastal offices, so if you are based at the coast and would like to attend, please leave a message here and we will work in the background to make that possible.
We look forward to your attendance, input and growing the community at large within South Africa.
Cheers, Morgan...
