Windows 7 shortcut keys

Windows 7 introduces several new shortcut keys to take advantage of design improvements. These shortcut keys will help save time and improve productivity while using Windows 7.  To perform shortcut key strokes, press and hold the keys while performing the task.

 

Windows Shortcuts
clip_image001 + Up Arrow  Maximize window
clip_image001 + Down Arrow  Restore/Minimize window
clip_image001 + <— Snap window to left
clip_image001 + –> Snap window to right
clip_image001 + Shift + <— Jump window to left monitor
clip_image001 + Shift +  –> Jump window to right monitor
clip_image001 + Home Restore/Minimize all other windows

 

Taskbar Shortcuts
clip_image001 + T Preview the first taskbar entry Press again to move forward through taskbar entries
clip_image001 + Shift + T Preview the last taskbar entry Press again to move back through taskbar entries Note:  after pressing the keystroke once, use <—and –> to cycle through
clip_image001 + #(1-9) Launches a new instance of the application in the #(1-9) slot on the taskbar

 

Desktop Shortcuts
clip_image001 + Space View the Desktop
clip_image001 + G Bring Gadgets to the top
clip_image001 + P

Opens projection options (Computer only, Duplicate, Extend and Projector only)

clip_image001 + X

Mobility Center (same as Vista, but still handy)

 

Desktop Shortcuts

clip_image001 + G Bring Gadgets to the top

 

Accessibility Shortcuts
clip_image001 + + Zoom in
clip_image001 + - Zoom out

 

Explorer Shortcuts
ALT + P Show/Hide Preview Pane

 

Mouse Shortcuts
Shift + Left Mouse Button  over Taskbar Icon Open a new instance
Middle Button Over Taskbar Icon Open a new instance
CTRL + Shift + Left Mouse + Taskbar Icon Open a new instance with Admin privileges
Shift + Right Mouse Button + Taskbar Icon

Show window menu (Restore/Minimize/Close, etc.)

Shift + Right Mouse Button + Taskbar Group

Show window group menu (Restore/Minimize/Close All)

CTRL + Taskbar Group

Cycle between the windows (or tabs) in the group
