Publishing your store ready Touch Develop app

After building your project your ready to publish. Here are some quick pointers.

1. Go to the Windows Store (aka.ms/MSStoreReg)

2. Login with the Live ID/Microsoft ID you created the store account with

3. If you already reserved your app name you’ll just be provide the rest of the details to submit.

4. Click on Selling Details

  1. Pick your price based on value provided
  2. Select your markets (US only if you have not localized your app)
  3. Pick your categories
  4. Weather apps should be category New/Weather and sub-category weather
  5. Converts should select tools

5. Click on advanced features (unless you’ve done live tiles or such) and click Save

6. Click “Age rating and rating certificates” –

  1. a. 12+ is recommended as Touch Develop open a network connection and therefore you could collect privacy information.
  2. b. Hit save

7. Click on Cryptography

  1. a. Unless you have added cryptography click No
  2. b. Click the I confirm checkbox
  3. c. Click Save

8. Click Packages

  1. a. Click browse files
  2. b. Navigate to your Touch Develop Solution
  3. c. Navigate to the TouchApp subdirectory
  4. d. Navigate into the AppPackage subdirectory
  5. e. Double click on the file with the .appxupload extension and let it complete the upload
  6. f. Click Save

9. Click on Description

  1. a. Fill in a meaningful description
  2. b. List app features
  3. c. Fill in keywords
  4. d. Unless this is an update skip “Description of update”
  5. e. Fill in copyright “Copyright © 2013, <Your Company Name>, Inc”
  6. f. Upload your screenshots
  7. g. Support contact info ( you can either enter an email address or support html page – see https://www.martinschray.com/supportpage.htm as an example)
  8. h. Privacy Policy (go to the Visual Studio project “README.txt” and towards the bottom will be the link for privacy statement.
  9. i. Click Save
  10. 10. Click submit for certification
