WPUG Meeting Notes

Firstly thanks to Matt and WPUG for the great meeting last night and to all the people who braved the weather to turn up and listen to me chat about a few aspects of Windows Phone 7. I don’t have any slides to publish – I didn’t use any – but I did cover the following:

• Hub extensibility
  • Games
  • Pictures
  • Music & Videos
• Using XNA Libraries from Silverlight
  • Accessing the Microphone
  • Using gesture support (rather than manipulations)
  • Saving pictures to the emulator
• Mocking location data
  • Using Bing Maps and mocking to generate location data for the emulator / device

• MultiTouch Behaviour
  • Implement multi-touch manipulations with an Expression Blend behavior
  • Has the nice “side-effect” of debug mode and simulating two touch points with just a mouse
