Save files as PDF or XPS format directly from Office 2007 for free

In my day to day work with customers, I've noticed that many of them aren't aware that you can save an Office document as either PDF or XPS format directly from within the application. This feature has been around for ages, but you need to install a small free add-in to make it available.

The add-in allows you to export and save to the PDF and XPS formats in Office 2007 programs. It basically adds the extra formats to the "save as" dialog box. It also allows you to send an e-mail attachment in the PDF and XPS formats in a subset of these programs.

The products where this feature works are listed below:

  • Access 2007
  • Excel 2007
  • InfoPath 2007
  • OneNote 2007
  • PowerPoint 2007
  • Publisher 2007
  • Visio 2007
  • Word 2007

You can download the add-in from https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4D951911-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041&displaylang=en.
