Hi - tracking numbers appear to be generated in an increasing sequence with fairly random increments. In development, we have noticed for example the following sequence: 111000, 111001, 111002, 111003, 111004, & then

The large increments mean we are likely to outgrow our permitted range for tracking numbers fairly soon. Does anyone know whether this type of random increment is normal system behaviour? Thanks for your help. Giles

Yes, each web server is going to hold blocks tracking numbers I think 500 and each time you reset your siteapp domain you get new 500 blocks. So lets say that you have a site installed no orders and have two web servers, the first server that comes uphit will get tracking number 1-500 the second server is going to get 501-1000. As the orders are placed tracking numbers are used now lets say for whatever reason you had to do an iis reset for your first web server the next time it comes uphit it will get tracking numbers of 1001-1500. You can override this behavior to implement your own tracking numbers.
