SQL Logs and SharePoint

I was asked today what happens with a SQL Transaction log when a document is opened, modified and changed. Specifically, will the log reflect the changes, or will they reflect the entire document. After pinging the product group, the response I have gotten back indicates that the log will reflect a transaction in size near the size of the file changed. So if you open 3 one megabyte files, then you should end up with approximately 3 megabyte of transaction log growth. I am going to try this out on my test site, but thought I would go ahead and share. Thanks!
