Interesting Finds from Slashdot on Coding Communities
What communities are you a part of now that help you write and develop software?
Slashdot | Coding Communities - What Works?.
This was a great discussion because it relates directly to my job and my team. The answers given here were pretty varied, but it boiled down to “I go places to find like minded individuals that help me get my work done and discuss interesting technologies”.
Some interesting finds..
- https://www.bigbold.com/snippets/ – Think delicious style tagged code snippets.
- https://www.codeproject.com/ – I knew about this one, but it was called out several times as best in breed for MS dev communities.
- IRC and realltime chat channels was mentioned for more frequently than I thought it would be.
- https://php.net/manual/en/ – I knew about this, but its cool documentation augmentation that’s not a wiki model.

I'll second Code Project.
I also long for days past (in some previous millennium) when I would have had enough free time to contribute to Code Project instead of just leeching from it. Meanwhile, there's tons and tons of valuable information to leech from it.
