(Supported) Solutions for Virtualizing Internet Explorer 6

The question “How do I virtualize IE 6 for legacy web apps?” is common when discussing a Windows 7 rollout. There are quite a few interesting solutions floating around the Interwebs. However, not all of them are recommended or supported. If you need IE 6 compatibility for your Windows 7 deployment, please read Solutions for Virtualizing Internet Explorer 6. This whitepaper discusses the two primary methods to deliver IE 6 on Windows 7. The first method is client OS virtualization – running a virtual instance of Windows XP SP3 locally or in a datacenter. The second method involves publishing IE 6 from a Windows Server 2003 Terminal Server. The pro’s and con’s of each method are detailed in the whitepaper. As always, call or e-mail me if you want to discuss further. Thanks --Jeff
