Microsoft Environmental Strategy
With increased investment into datacenters around the world it is important to consider the environmental impact and factor in plans for reducing energy consumption and the carbon footprint of new installations. As a software company we have a big part to play by providing the tools and guidance with which to be as efficient as possible when it comes to doing IT. We’ve just launched a new website that talks about what Microsoft is doing to help things and also for providing useful information for other companies who run computers (I’m guessing that’s most) to make sure they are doing the most to reduce their carbon footprint.

- In the Ireland datacenter they use the external air to cool the datacenter
