Maximum number of RIDs available in a Windows domain?
The maximum number of RIDs available in a 32-bit-OS-hosted domain (NT4/2000/2003) is 1073741824
The RID space is 30-bits, therefore 2^30 = 1073741824
You can lower the maximum number of RIDs via registry values, referenced in the article below:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\RID Values
"Minimum RID"
"Maximum RID"
