Microsoft will announce the technical details of the Tabular Data Stream (TDS)-based SQL Data Services (SDS) at MIX 2009 later this week. SDS will expose SQL Server's existing network protocol, TDS, directly as the service protocol. SDS will become the first relational database service in the market to provide customers with the ability to use existing investments in T-SQL development and use a full relational data model in the Cloud.

The ASP.NET MVC RC2 release provides a new Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework on top of the existing ASP.NET 3.5 runtime. Developers can take advantage of the MVC design patterns to create their Web applications. The ASP.NET MVC framework defines a specific pattern to the Web Application folder structure and provides a controller base-class to handle and process requests for "actions."
