Toggle PowerPoint animations on and off

If you and your team are reviewing a slide presentation, one way to speed up the process is to temporarily disable animations.

In PowerPoint 2007 and PowerPoint 2010, go to the Slide Show tab and click Set Up Slide Show:

Set Up Slide Show

Now check the Show without animation box and then click OK:

Show without animation

While you're in there, you can choose to show only the specific slides you want to review (or present).

This feature can also be used to speed up a presentation in front of an audience, but be sure that it still works properly without the animations before you get up on stage.

Though, frankly, if your presentation can be run effectively without them, those animations weren't needed to begin with. See if you can't cut them down to just what is necessary to tell your story, and nothing that's just for show.

Great post! Is there a way to disable animations for particular slides instead of the whole slide show?
