Blog Bling 137 days left to the start of PDC 2008 in Los Angeles. Lot of sessions abstract have been announced, tons of questions have been answered by The Brain, thousand of fans already joined the social group on Facebook

Get ready for the most exciting (IMHO) conference of the year, where we will finally share more details about our services platform, the future of Windows, mobility, and our next generation of developer tools:

Windows 7, Live Mesh, Oslo, Zurich,… and Mobile!

After the MIX 08 overview…we are ready to uncover more details about the future of Silverlight for Mobile! Myself and Amit will show you how to extend an existing Silverlight 2 Application to work on Windows Mobile.. .

The session will be demo-driven…and if you’ve seen my session at MIX, you what I’m talking about smile_omg

But I hope that it will also run on Symbian. Because this is what the majority of my users use.

Hi Giorgio. Does this mean that Silverlight for Mobile will skip 1 and go straight to 2? That would be an excellent move in my opinion (apart from the programmability aspects, the layout capabilities of Silverlight 2 are really needed in mobile applications). If that's the case it would go a long way to reviving my faith in the whole idea, especially if the PDC is accompanied or closely followed by a public release of some kind (after what happened or rather didn't happen after MIX we're entitled to adopt a "Nice demo, now give us the bits" attitude). I still think Silverlight 2 for Mobile is essential to preventing a mass defection of developers to the i-word platform (although in an ideal world Apple would embrace Silverlight).

@Nektar: your point is correct: Nokia is currently the leader in the mobile phone space. Btw, as previously announced, Silverlight for Mobile will run on some device of the Nokia family. @Kevin: thank you for your feedback. ;) Our goal is to provide the best product as possible to our ecosystem of developers...You'll get more info about our future plans at PDC (hope to see you there!) :)
