An update is available to disable the ability to add all members of a category as members of a chat room in Lync 2010 Group Chat

INTRODUCTION

This article describes
an update that is available for Microsoft Lync 2010 Group Chat clients. This
update disables the ability to add all members of a category to a chat room as
members. The following functionalities are updated:

  • When a user creates a chat room in a Group Chat client, the Same as category category name option is disabled in the Initial Membership List page of the Create a Chat Room wizard.
  • Assume that a user right-clicks the chat room, and then clicks Manage… . If the Create a new membership list option that is located under the Settings tab is selected, it cannot be deselected.
