Evan moves to Redmond

Just wanted to let everyone know that I’ve moved to Redmond and taken a position within the Exchange product group. This may come as a surprise to folks who thought I already lived in Redmond (I actually lived in Charlotte, NC until last week)!

In any case, I’ve moved from the Exchange Product Support Service (PSS) organization and am now a Program Manager on the Exchange Admin/SysMgmt team. This means I’ll be involved in designing the next version of Exchange and in particular how system administration is done.

How will this affect my blogging? Remains to be seen. I still have a couple of support topics I’ve been sitting on, so I’ll try to get those posted as time allows. And then I’ll have to have a close look at how much of what I’m doing can be shared (and, truthfully, how much of it would even be useful in a blog post). Working on the product before it’s released generally provides far less “public disclosure” opportunities than working on the support side with the released product, of course.

That said, I’ll try not to pull a MichaelP (ie – become a PM and then disappear from the blog-world), but only time will tell. At least if it happens, he probably won’t notice I’ve posted this to give me grief about it.
