Building OSS with Microsoft System Center
The TM Forum’s Management World Americas event is next week, 7-10 December 2009, in Orlando, Florida. One of the particularly interesting topics Microsoft will begin discussing at Management World will be next generation, customer focused OSS that can manage service delivery from the 3 Screens (desktop, mobile, and IPTV) through the data center and out to the cloud: end-to-end infrastructure and service management.
Microsoft and its partners are building telecom specific solutions leveraging the TM Forum’s solution frameworks and core Microsoft technologies. The approach leverages the very successful and widely deployed system management tool (Microsoft System Center) plus partner supplied knowledge packs; SharePoint for telecom specific BI / event management, collaboration, content management; SQL Server for self-service business analysis and reporting; BizTalk Server for supply chain management, B2B trading and application integration; Dynamics CRM for customer relationship management; and Azure for cloud services and applications. These solutions can be deployed to extend legacy technologies for updated capabilities or as a platform for new solutions. We will also be talking about our ideas around service delivery platforms and frameworks including the SolutionFrameworks.NET initiative leveraging Visual Studio 2010 for the IT professional developer.
We are inviting attendees to meet with us at Management World in Orlando so we can incorporate your needs into these solutions. We also welcome suggestions attendees have outside of these areas. Telecommunications architects and developers from Microsoft will be on hand.
See you in Orlando.
