Four words

Four words I never thought I would use together...

Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl.

We Tivod the game since we were up skiing, and just finished watching it. Where did that Seahawk defense come from?

[Update: I thought this morning that there might be a fifth word to stick at the end of those four...]

I'm waiting for Alan Funt to come back from the grave and tell me I'm on Candid Camera. (Or something.) The game wasn't even as close as the score would lead you to believe.

The defense has been dominant all year. When you lead most games by as much as the Seahawks usually do, putting in scrubs for the final quarter or two will skew stats. If they tracked defensive stats by only when the game "mattered", the Seahawks would be one of the top teams. After all, the Seahawks may have been ranked #17 in yards allowed, but they were #7 in fewest points allowed and averaged over 11 points more per game than opponents.

Seattle has the best rushing defense in the league, and against a team like the Panthers which has no rushing game whatsoever, and a quarterback (Delhomme) with such a horrible QB rating, you are going to end up with a big win.

It's going to be interesting to see Seattle against Pittsburgh, since the Steelers have the one of, if not the best rushing game in the league.

    Champions?

The game against Pittsburgh is going to be excellent, I can't wait.
