PROJECT SERVER 2013. REDUCCION TIEMPO DE INSTALACION DE ACTUALIZACIONES ACUMULATIVAS (II).

Hace tiempo escribimos este post donde explicábamos cómo agilizar la instalación de las actualizaciones:
y es tiempo de revisar el script mencionado en él, ya que, a partir de la actualización de Agosto de 2015, para SharePoint Server 2013 y Project Server 2013, se han detectado problemas en la instalación, fallando en ocasiones, mostrando un mensaje genérico, que no nos ayudaba realmente a entender qué pudiera estar pasando.
Dicho mensaje era el siguiente:
“The installation of this package failed”, o, en castellano: “La instalación de este paquete ha fallado”. En los logs de instalación, que se suelen encontrar en la siguiente ruta: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp\2, veiamos los siguientes errores:
CAQuietExec: Error 0x8007000d: CAQuietExec Failed
CustomAction RegisterPerfmonManifest returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)
Y teníamos una especie de workaround (por llamarlo de alguna manera) consistente en re-lanzar la instalación varias veces hasta que se completara correctamente. Independientemente, el problema puede radicar en que podamos pensar que la instalación haya terminado correctamente, cuando sólo se haya instalado parcialmente. Si la instalación se ejecuta con el “switch” /passive, no se mostrará el error (ya que no muestra la interfaz gráfica de la actualización). Esto afecta al script de instalación que os comentamos en el post mencionado antes. El script “correcto” sería entonces el siguiente:
