Connector for Microsoft Dynamics Feature Pack 6 released

The Connector for Microsoft Dynamics Team is pleased to announce the release of Feature Pack 6 of Connector for Microsoft Dynamics! This release ensures that your Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 deployment will have the choice to integrate with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4 or Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 in either an online or on-premise deployment. This release also resolves some of the key issues that you might be facing with your Feature Pack 5 deployments.

Don’t have access to Partner Source but would like to know more? Check out the User Guide for the corresponding ERP which will begin your installation preparation. I know, I know; reading documentation can be an arduous task. But you know what they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So read the provided documentation and avoid the common pitfalls and save yourself the support call.

    Hi WHen is the connector going to support CRM 2011 webservice and IFD/Claimsbased auth. It's really bad we can't use the connector and have CRM 2011 configured for IFD at the same time. Many solutions need IFD, Clickdimensions and CWR Mobility to name a few. Any timeline for this ????

    We are planning for the next release of Connector to support CRM 2011 IFD / claims authorization.  Please stay tuned to this blog for the details when it is released.  If you are a Dynamics Partner in good standing you can use the "Email Blog Author" feature for potential TAP oportunities.

    When installing the Connector, I get the following error: users.telenet.be/.../connectorinstallerror.png When ignoring this, the installation finishes but the service is not installed. users.telenet.be/.../services.png Does someone knows what's wrong here?

    Please verify that the account information supplied to runthe Connector serverice as is valid.  If the connector is installed but the service failed to start as this meesage inidcates you can find the Connector for Microsoft Dynamics service in the services console and re-enter the LogOn information there.

    I'm afraid the connector service has not been installed. I tried running the connector on another VM and there it installs like a charm. I'm not sure what there could be wrong.

    can you integrate several GP databases to a single CRM Online instance using this connector?

    @Dennis Chee - You could certainly use Connector's SDK to build a custom adapter to a custom SL web service.  For the next release of Connector we will be releasing a SL 2011 adapter, its functionality will be limited to integrating Customers and Contacts however.  In regards to the error that you are seeing, this is typically due to the user launching connector not having access to the MSDI database.  The permissions that this user needs are outlined in the user guide and are granted to the user installing Connector during the installation process.

    @nzregs - this release would support multiple GP companies integrating to a single CRM organization in only one direction, GP -> CRM.  Be advised that there a great number of issues that will be encountered or that need to be addressed before doing this type of integration (picklist sync being just one of them).  The next release of Connector will provide support for this type of integration in both directions, however this will not be the default installation and it will require a certain amount of customization on the implementer's part and the amount of up-front planning will remain the same..

    @thehetz I know this is an old post, but does the Connector supports IFD/Claimsbased auth. now? If yes from wich release this is supported?

    @EMKA - claims based authorization for  Dynamics CRM 2011 has been supported since version 2.0 of Connector for Microsoft Dynamics.
